The McLaren MP4/5 (and its 1990 evolution, the MP4/5B) was the Formula 1 car powered by a Honda V10 engine that Ayrton Senna drove to win his second Formula 1 Drivers' Championship in 1990, building on its success from 1989. It was a dominant, iconic car in red-and-white Marlboro livery that achieved 16 wins and 27 poles over two seasons.

- 1989 Season (MP4/5): Though Senna won six races to Prost's four, high engine failure rates and accidents meant Prost won the championship.

- 1990 Season (MP4/5B): Improved with a revised, "Batman" diffuser (5-tunnel design) and refined transverse gearbox to improve power handling.

- Legacy: Known for intense rivalries, with the 1989 and 1990 world championships both decided by controversial collisions involving Senna and Alain Prost at Suzuka, Japan.

It is widely considered one of the most significant cars in F1 history.
